Q. Can I connect a passive speaker straight into my TV?
Answer:
Please be aware that in order to connect passive speakers to a TV, they will need some
form of amplifier, in this case a receiver of some type.
You can get
either a two channel stereo receiver or if you want multiple pairs of
loudspeakers connected to the same TV, a multi-channel receiver is
required. We would recommend going for a model that has HDMI built into it for ease of
connecting up and go with a reputable brand such as Denon, Marantz,
Yamaha or at the higher end NAD, Arcam or Cambridge Audio. All of these
receivers will allow you to also connect up a Blu-ray player or
similar to playback movie discs.
