The In-ceiling speakers are relatively
tolerant of small enclosure volumes, even below 10 litres you’re not likely to
see more than a couple of dBs drop around 80 Hz until you get below 8 litres.
We wouldn’t recommend anyone goes below 8 litres because the increase in
pressure is likely to cause chuffing.
These speakers are designed to be relatively tolerant of rear enclosure volume, but clearly there will be some noticeable loss in bass extension if it gets small and the rear air compliance becomes too stiff.

The QI SUB80S is a 200mm bass driver designed for wall mounting with a 248mm cut-out and requiring 100mm depth behind it. The low-profile magnetic grille is 287mm x 287mm square.
The ideal rear cavity capacity is 22 litres or greater and it should be no less than 13 litres to avoid impacting on its bass extension. You need to connect a 50-100 watt power amplifier between the subwoofer output on your AV Receiver and QI SUB80S. We would generally recommend using 2 x QI SUB80S and thus a stereo amplifier.
