Q Active - Q. Can I connect a turntable fitted with a moving coil (MC) cartridge as I can only see moving magnet (MM) mentioned?

Answer:

Although the RCA toggle switch shows an MM (moving magnet) position on the hub, should you have a turntable equipped with a moving coil (MC) you will require and a phono pre-amp that would sit between the turntable and the Hub ensuring that the RCA toggle switch is set to 'LINE'.  Please note, some turntables are now equipped with phono stages actually built into them and have a switch on the turntable itself for selecting the cartridge type being used, these types of turntable will generally connect direct to a 'LINE' level RCA input, please consult the turntables instruction manual.
